 Connect Daily

Matthew 6:11

"Give us this day our daily bread"

 The Power of Connecting Daily
There are several key ways we can build strong relationships. First, you need to determine how deep and meaningful you want the relationship to be with the other person. Secondly, you need to determine what you are willing to do to build the relationship. The other person must also want the same level of commitment. Why? Because relationships are a two way street.

Each relationship is different therefore the detailed ways you might build the relationship will be different, but the core system to build meaningful relationships is the same. For example, you would not use the same methods to build a friendship that you used to court your spouse. However, the methods such as communication, listening, etc. would be the same.

The same holds true in your relationship with God.  And the good news is He is already committed to having a deep, loving and meaningful relationship with you. You do not have to convince God to be in a relationship with you, He is already waiting. Our main goal should be that our deepest, most intimate relationship is with Jesus Christ.

God has provided us with every tool and resource we need to accomplish this task, but we allow ourselves to fail because of our lack of commitment. We allow life to get in the way of living. You see when our life is truly in God's hands, that is when living really begins. If I wake up each morning, read the daily verse below should I expect my relationship with God to grow? Sure it will, because doing something is better than doing nothing. However, the relationship will never reach the level that God desires.

Our goal should be to give God the very best we have to offer in everything we do. If I decide to sleep in and pray while driving to the office is this giving God the best of me? Now don't misunderstand me here, there are times when this may be the best at that moment you can offer, but don't make it the norm.

So how do we grow close to God on a daily basis? We give Him the best we can in three key areas.
  1. Prayer Time - We need to pray each day! Not give God a list of demands or our list as some people refer to it. We need to seek Him and His will through earnest prayer asking only for His will to be given in our life.
  2. Bible Time - We need to study the scriptures each day! Take time to not only read the word, but to absorb the word. Asking for wisdom for understanding and using the tools available to deepen your knowledge of God's word.
  3. Listen - Be patient and wait for direction from God.
